A Season of Care, Generosity, and Community

As we reflect on this season of giving, we are reminded that advocacy takes many forms and generosity is one of them. The holiday season can be an especially challenging time for children in foster care. While many celebrate with familiar traditions and family connections, the youth CASA Essex serves are often navigating uncertainty, transitions, and the lingering effects of trauma. What makes this season brighter and more meaningful is knowing that they are not alone.

This year’s Holiday Gift Drive was a powerful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together with intention and care. Through the generosity of individuals, families, organizations, and partners, children and youth served by CASA Essex received gifts that reflected thoughtfulness, dignity, and genuine concern for their well-being.

These were not just presents. They were reminders, tangible expressions that each child is seen, valued, and remembered. For many youth, receiving a gift chosen specifically for them reinforces something every child deserves to feel: that they matter.
