A Message from the Executive Director
Dear Friends,
As we reflect on the opening months of this significant year, we have been continuously inspired by the unwavering commitment displayed across our community.
At CASA Essex, the period from January through March has been characterized not by a singular grand event, but by the quiet, powerful strength of showing up day after day for the children who rely on our advocacy.
Our mission thrives on this steady, consistent momentum, which serves as the heartbeat of everything we do.
We are deeply grateful to our partners, including the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey and the Jewish Women’s Foundation, for their collaboration. Their support is instrumental in refining our trauma-informed approach, ensuring that we provide not just basic oversight, but deep, meaningful, and compassionate advocacy that truly addresses the needs of the youth we serve.
At the same time, the power of our work is magnified when we witness our community in action. Our recent Tricky Tray event was a poignant reminder that we are part of a vast, interconnected network of supporters. This work is never a solo endeavor; it is sustained by every individual who believes in the potential for change when we align our efforts toward a common goal. Your participation in these events creates the resources necessary to continue our critical, day-to-day operations—the vital visits, detailed court reports, and the enduring relationships that ensure every child in our care has a voice that is heard and respected.
As we move forward into the remainder of our 40th year, I am profoundly proud of the foundation we have built together and energized by the path that lies ahead.
We invite you to remain closely engaged as we build upon this current momentum. Strengthening our impact is a shared journey, and our commitment to the families we serve is deeper than ever.
Thank you for choosing to stand with us, for your ongoing belief in our mission, and for your constant presence in the lives of the children we advocate for. Together, we are creating a legacy of stability and care that will resonate for years to come.
With Gratitude,
Marla Higginbotham
